Chameleon users,

At approximately 5:35 PM Cental, a problem occurred with the shared storage that for Chameleon's KVM cloud. We have restored service, however instances may have failed, reporing I/O errors. Rebooting these instances should restore access. If you are still experiencing trouble with an instance, please open a ticket (https://www.chameleoncloud.org/user/help/) and we will work to resolve the issue.

We apologize for the inconveneince this may have caused.

Chameleon portal temporarily unavailable

Update: This issue impacting the Chameleon portal, caused by a connectivity issue to one of our hosting providers, has been resolved.

Our portal (https://www.chameleoncloud.org) is temporarily unavailable. We are investigating the cause.

TACC Network Maintenance 11 March, 2018

Access to Chameleon resources located at TACC will be unavailable from 9:00 AM CDT until 2:00 PM CDT on March 11, 2018 during upgrades to the TACC core networking hardware. Instances will continue to run, but users will have no access to systems or services until the upgrade is complete.

CHI@UC maintenance for networking configuration changes

The maintenance for CHI@TACC is complete. 

HP Moonshot nodes will remain reserved for maintenance while we configure network isolation for them.

We have updated the firmware on a number nodes, so if you believe that your experiments are sensitive to this, check the Chameleon Resource Browser (https://www.chameleoncloud.org/hardware/) for details

CHI@TACC System Instability

UPDATE:  System stability has been restored.

Due to instability resulting from last week's upgrade CHI@TACC will not be available for use. We are working to correct the issue and will provide an update as soon as possible.

UPDATE:

The outage for CHI@TACC is complete. Please note that we have made some changes to the networking configuration, instances must be launched using the network named "ironic-provisioning" rather than "sharednet1" as before.

 

The CHI@TACC bare-metal cloud is unavailable due to a planned software upgrade, from November 27 at 7 AM CST to December 1 at 6 PM CST. All nodes have been reserved. You can continue using CHI@UC in the meantime.
