Update:
The Object Store for Chameleon is now back in production. As a result of changes made during the recent upgrades, all data needed to be re-uploaded by administrators to comply with the new project IDs that were introduced. All containers have been renamed according to their original name, with “_restore” appended. For example, a container named “Storage” will now appear as “Storage_restore”.
If there are any issues accessing Object Store data, please open a ticket at https://www.chameleoncloud.org/user/help.
Update:
Due to an unexpected delay in the start of necessary maintenance, the Object Store is still unavailable for use. Work is estimated to be complete by the end of Wednesday, September 7.
CHI@TACC is available for use following an important maintenance period. Changes applied during this maintenance may impact some advanced users.
If you use the OpenStack command-line or API access to CHI@TACC, you will need to ensure that any reference to the variable OS_TENANT_ID (stored in your openrc.sh file) is either removed in favor of OS_TENANT_NAME, or updated to reflect a new alpha-numeric ID string. This new ID can be obtained by going to https://chi.tacc.chameleoncloud.org/dashboard/identity/ under the column “Project ID”. If you only manage Chameleon resources via the web interface at https://chi.tacc.chameleoncloud.org, you are not affected by this change and do not need to take any action.
Images and appliances that contain the “cc-snapshot” feature will require changes to that feature to compensate for the change of tenant (project) IDs. New Chameleon-supported images will be updated shortly. We will make an announcement when they are ready. If you need to snapshot instances in the meantime, you can follow the manual snapshotting process described at: https://www.chameleoncloud.org/docs/user-guides/ironic/#snapshotting_an_instance
The Object Store will continue to be unavailable, as required hardware maintenance has been extended. We estimate that the work will be complete by close of business Tuesday, September 6. Again, an announcement will follow, when the service is once again available.
Original announcement:
A maintenance session of CHI@TACC is scheduled from September 1st, 3 AM Central Time to September 2nd, 6 PM Central Time. All bare-metal resources at TACC have been reserved for this purpose. KVM@TACC and CHI@UC will remain available.
